Magnetic Particle Testing

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) is a non-destructive testing method used to detect surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials using magnetic fields and iron particles to reveal flaws such as cracks and seams.

Overview

We offer Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) to detect surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel, and cobalt. This non-destructive method uses a magnetic field and fine magnetic particles—applied either dry or suspended in liquid—to reveal flaws like cracks, seams, laps, and other discontinuities that may not be visible to the naked eye.

MT is ideal for inspecting welds, castings, forgings, and structural components in industries such as power generation, oil & gas, manufacturing, and transportation. Our technicians are certified to industry standards (e.g., ASNT, ASTM, ASME) and deliver accurate, reliable inspections that ensure asset integrity and compliance.
